Overview

Our Client, an innovative regional provider of communications solutions, is seeking candidates for a Controller role. This individual will provide leadership to the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of a fast-growing, mid-sixed company. Our ideal candidate will have the leadership qualities needed to grow the department and work with the Executive team, while also having hands-on involvement with book keeping, invoicing, vendor payments, and overall cash flow maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day Accounting and Cash-Flow Maintenance – Payroll processing (coordination with outside payroll company), accounts payable and receivable duties, day-to-day accounting and cash flow tasks.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts for direct review with management.
  • Basic HR Tasks – Handle employee benefits questions, maintain employee files, 401(k) activities, hiring and training new employees
  • Financial Management Reporting – Monthly & quarterly financial reporting with analysis & comments.
  • Accounting Procedures and Policies – Maintain a current accounting policy & procedures manual.
  • Establishing an Accounting Department – Oversee the expansion of the accounting department as the company grows including direct involvement in recruiting and hiring additional accounting personnel.
  • Accounting Software Implementation – Comprehend, manage and maintain all of the key financial oriented software; Be directly involved with the implementation of regular software updates.
  • Annual Audits/Tax Reporting – Coordinate with and provide critical information to the outside accountants, bankers, customers, and all other users of the company’s financial information.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of overall related experience with 2+ years being the “go-to” Accounting person for a company
  • Skilled in AP/AR duties and general book keeping
  • Working knowledge of HR policies and procedures; Experience with employment files and benefits a plus
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks or a similar accounting software
  • Strong financial reporting skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with vendors and customers and resolve problems in a collaborative manner
